last night as holly drove us to taco bell and carl's jr so emily could satisfy her midnight munchies, we traded and shared stories about our new lives outside of LO. holly and emily fought more than usual: holly reprimanded emily about her disparaging behavior and emily telling holly to fuck off. catching up last night made me miss who we were in high school and the innocence we had lost during our freshman year of college. but even though we have all changed, made new friends, and created new lives for ourselves, i don't think our friendship has. i don't know if it's because our hometown ties us together and reminds us of who we once were, or if i am just lying and telling myself that we will always be friends. nonetheless i will always love holly and emily for who they are no matter we become or where life takes us.

∆
yesterday was my first day home from college. as expected it was weird coming home and returning to the lake oswego bubble. driving back from the airport with my brother and my dad, everything in LO is exactly as i left it; the weather, the cars, the people, are all the same, only i feel different, older. in a way i feel like time at home stood still while i learned and discovered at college, but reuniting with emily and holly just proved how wrong i was. i knew that emily and holly would change in college and i was prepared for that, yet it was still hard seeing and accepting who they have become now.
